Christine Caroline Vargha (aka Newkirk) is a mixed media artist based out of Charleston, SC.

Using textures, layers, motifs, patterns and images gathered from traveling the world, Christine Caroline Vargha’s work is meant to provide a glimpse into cultures; it offers a representation of the past and present - a history. Every piece tells a story.

Christine has an EdM in International Studies from Columbia University, Teachers College and a BFA from Arizona State University. She has CT teaching certification, Elementary (K-6) and Art Content and Making (K-12). After a teaching career of 25+ years in CT, she now tutors at Porter Gaud School in Charleston, SC.
